Your article on age of Aquarius, boomers is interesting. Many of us are not financially rich, have many losses of people in our families, death, lots of challenges in our 50+ years. Have you been a caregiver to your parents or to others? Oh, and we have ptsd. From Vietnam losses, wars that the powers that be brought in for their stupid egotistical ideas. Political and economic gains. When we are younger our brains and bodies can take more physical and emotional pain can sometimes come out of it. If not, we DIE.
We are truly living now in the Age of Aquarius, or in the End times as they say in the Bible. And women are truly rising up again like boomers did in the 70s, 80s.
We have lived in a truly Patriarchal system going back 6,000 years. There are spiritual beings that have screwed things up for a long time. Figure it out. Lots of information out there. Wish you luck. We are all stuck in Karma.

Thank you for your comments, Fran. It is true that people of means generally have better health as they age and certainly more options. And we don’t mean to suggest that it’s a cakewalk for anyone. We are more interested in pushing back against ageism and challenging our throw-away society not to throw-away people as they age. It begins by claiming our own age and courageously stepping into this stage of life. As Bette Davis said “growing old is not for sissies.” Editor

I write a blog that focuses on aging. I introduced a recent post, Old and Proud, in the following way:
“Young people do not want to know that they are human, that they too will grow old. They spend inordinate amount of time trying to be beautiful because they fear being old, infirm, and ugly. They don’t say ugly but they mean ugly.
Our challenge is to help them to see the beauty of life through its many stages, through all of its pains and triumphs, and to celebrate life’s full passage. Not by preaching or teaching them directly but by being wholeheartedly ourselves.”
I think your readers would like it. Here’s access: https://barrydym.wordpress.com/2017/03/23/old-and-proud-we-will-not-be-defined-by-the-standards-of-youth/
