Matter-of-fact, I recently received a message from a subscriber saying they were not going to renew their subscription because most of our advertising is for senior living communities. She bemoaned the lack of diversity in our advertising. It's not from lack of trying. Most businesses fail to recognize what a valuable market they are ignoring in spite of our efforts to educate them.

Until businesses include older adults in their print and TV advertising instead of them being invisible, ageism will continue. Older adults buy coffee, eat at McDonalds and shop at Macy’s – yet are not in TV and print advertising.

As vapid as it may sound, my reckless dream is wear red lipstick when I leave the house and not have to mask up!

I want to go to the movies and not panic about touching the armrest or the seat. I want to sit on the plane and be annoyed that I don’t have any leg room, not that someone a few rows up is coughing and I could be bringing Covid back to my family.

Thanks for writing this article. Thanks for asking me what I haven’t voiced aloud but have been feeling for quite some time.
