Though far away from where I live, I love to write them each a note or postcard and send them mail. It is a moment’s mindfulness of each one of them as I draw a flower, add a sticker and set the stamp. There is the possibility that they will tuck these notes away and rediscover them as time passes, and so do I. Nothing brings my loved ones back to me like opening a book and discovering that familiar handwriting on the envelope or card. My Grandmother Vivien died in 1988 and I am still connected to her grace through these written treasures.
